Calling asking for a person by their first and last name like you know them. To sake things or get information isn't cool.

This is a New Jersey area code; I live in Illinois. They called my cell phone, but left no message. So in an attempt to find out who they are (since nobody has posted this info yet), I blocked my phone number and called them back. They answered with, "Sorry, we must have called you by mistake. We will take you off our calling list. Thanks for your time." Very, VERY strange. Same response when I called them a second and a third time, although different people (both male and female) answered. Each time, they immediately disconnected the call.

So just for kicks, I Unblocked my number and called again. Obviously, they couldn't even SEE my number on the first three calls - despite their promise to remove my number from their list - because this time, they answered with, "Thank you for calling Customer Service. Did we recently try to contact you? Is this Heather? This call is being recorded for [I don't recall the reason]." When I asked who this was, they said they could get me the best rate for car insurance. I replied that if I wanted to change car insurance, I would make my own calls.

So go ahead and confidently block this SPAM phone number!
