I would definitely make sure that if they have your number that the name they are asking for is a match. If it is then they have your application. There are unscrupulous people who can use this number to reach out to you by using an app, but all in all they are a real company that receives applications for loans. If you receive an email from them letting you know that they have a pending application and you know for a fact that you did not apply, it would be in your best interest to reply and let them know you did not apply or haven't applied in the past. It may very well assist you in finding out that someone has committed identity theft. This is what happened with me. They called me and they called my employer to verify employment. They use the GTC name for the privacy of their applicants which is a smart thing to do. I found out that someone has indeed applied for a loan in my name.
