Says is Verizon, but I don't think so. When I corrected my name, he hung up. Block!
Legitimate Verizon Call!
My wife got a call from this number from someone claiming to be from Verizon, saying we don't use all the data in our plan each month, and was offering to reduce what we pay each month if we drop to a lower data plan. She declined, and then told me about the call. I looked up the number online, and got worried that this was a scam call my wife just had. I called Verizon's technical services/customer service number to block the number from calling us, but provided the number for them to check it out. The person I talked to said if it was a legitimate Verizon call, a record of the call would be on our account. She checked, and there was a record that Verizon called, and she even provided the first and last name of the associate who called (which I hadn't told her).
So this was a legit call for us. I can't vouch for other people's calls from this number.
866-874-8380 is the VERIZON CUSTOMER LOYALTY DEPARTMENT - NOT a SPAM call.
When this call came in, it was marked as "spam" by my `Mr. Number` app. (BTW, a great app!) I decided to answer it anyway, and it found it was a nice guy calling from Verizon's Customer Loyalty Dept. That department alerts customers if they're over-spending for services that they are not using. Apparently, I was using very little data on my plan, so he gave me a credit for non-usage, and lowered my data plan to match my usage, saving me about $300 annually.
His call also gave me a chance to discuss some issues that we were experiencing with their Delphi and Sure Response devices. They will give me a credit for some of the problems, and will replace the devices.
So, if you have Verizon, put this number in your contacts. I think you will be glad you did.

This is wrong. I just called Verizon directly to check the number. This is NOT their number. It's a known issue and the fraud department is involved. You just gave your information to a spammer!
Called them back and started harassing them. Called the number 11 times in a row and the same woman answered every time. They're claiming to be Verizon. Call a few times a day.
Says they are Verizon and if you give them your SS#, password and valid credit card, they can reduce your data bill.
