On July 5, 2017 a call came in on our home phone which is in my Mother's name (we don't share the same last name). She said they called from a 347 area code so she answered being that it was a familiar area code. The caller asked for me and stated that they were calling from United Processing Service and that a complaint was filed against me and that I needed to return the call and provided a file #. Smelled fishy to me so I didn't bother.
On July 7, 2017 I received a call on my cell phone from (818) 813-7705 stating that they are calling from the servicing division of United Process Service in regards to a formal complaint that requires my immediate attention. They claimed they have documents that are scheduled to be delivered to my home or place of employment. They went on to state that it is a time sensitive matter and it is imperative that I contact the firm handling my file at (877) 479-3789 and reference the file number given. I did not return the call.
Since then I have been getting calls from blocked numbers daily which I do not answer.
I don't owe anyone, I made sure of that before I got the mortgage for my home 2 years ago, so I know my credit is clean. I googled 877-479-3789 and did locate Direct Consumer Group located at 201 Main Street 6th Floor Fort Worth, TX 76102. 877-479-3789, but I still believe this is a SCAM that is either using that number or connected with that company be it real or fake. I intend to report it to all agencies possible.

They called me as well scam
Last week I received a call from a 213 # stating that I has to call these people within one hour and that if I didn't do this that court proceedings will be process.... I call this # and they told me that I owed 1200 for a Verizon land line, I asked them to mail me this information she told me that IRS at the lawyers office and that she didn't have this..... She also told me that if I didn't pay, that they will take me to court and sue me....
My question Is. Is these people is lagite or do I have to due them.... Ty.

take the call seriously. gather all info as you can -name of originating company, date of original account opened, DATE OF LAST ACTIITY!!!!, date when sent to collections. If they say that you were sent letters from Direct Consumer, ask for a copy - they may say that you'll be charged for it as well as the copies of original information you want. They may also say that you are beyond a specific time period and that now your account is in pre-trial status. They may say that you will be sent a process server (papers to go to court) - DO NOT IGNORE THAT PART! Look up your state's laws regarding Statute of Limitations for Debts, CONSULT AN ATTORNEY no matter what. Most sites regarding any state statute of limitations (SOL) will have helpful info and attorneys that you may be able to call for a free consult. ****BEST TO BE FULLY AWARE OF ALL YOUR OPTIONS than to do this blindly. Don't ignore the notice but have all ammunition without telling Direct Consumer what you are wanting. You DO NOT want to lock yourself into a "vocal contract" - aka verbal... They do record their calls and can use against you if they feel they can get away with it. Best to just hit it straight on and deal with the problem than ignore it and have it bite you from behind. was called this number and started researching SCAM and what do you know it is associated with 877 641 0469. Said they would send me the information regarding this to a e-mail, which I have set up just for this kind of situation, and I had 1 hr to respond. OMG no e-mail, and since I know the law enforcement in this region city, county and state, called a deputy friend of mine and inquired about this and reported this. Thank you to everyone who have commented . His name was William Anderson ext3789. Never piss off retired military intelligence soldiers, we might just bite back.
