Called twice today. I did now answer and they did not leave a message. Number came up as American Express on my caller Id

They called me several times in a row; call ID listed as American Express. I hadn’t noticed this, and did finally answer; they misidentified my number as a relative’s, and asked if I had made a (very large) transaction. It didn’t seem legit, so I hung up and called AMEXfraud dept. And they confirmed my suspicion.

Called saying they were from American Express customer complaints, looking for a relative (thinking my number was theirs). Once I told them this was the wrong number, they hung up.

This is most definitely a scam call. They said they were from fraud department of AmEx, and knew just enough to make me wonder, yet I gave no info and they gave me a bogus birthdate, so I hung up and called my CC company and they advised it was not them or their fraud dept.

Keep getting calls from so-called American Express. Do not have an American Express account or card. Annoying. It goes to voicemail and i don not pick up or call back.
