Yep! He just called my coworker and said the same things, going back to 2008. She hung up. Then we called him back and told him the FBI was on their way to his house and he just laughed. What a scammer preying on older people.
I got the IRS call today - what I joke. The man had a very bad accent- and when I told him that I thought this all seemed a little funny - and I started to laugh -and then said I would just call into the IRS myself - he simply stated that I would be going to jail in the next 45 minutes.... I am still waiting.
They called me 6/30 claiming to be IRS said audit 2008-2012 is fraudulent and if I don't pay $2879 by end of conversation US Marshall is coming to my house to arrest me! It's almost funny. He said get a pen and paper and write this down. He gave me a case number GN something. At that point I told him, sir you have a very thick foreign accent. This is a very important conversation. I'm going to need an English speaking individual to explain this to me. He refused ended up so frustrated he cursed at me. At that point I knew the IRS would not call me an f'n be ouch and from that point I knew it was fraud. I called him back and insulted him with a few curse words. At this point he has blocked my number! Haha
I received a message on my Cellphone and was alarmed! It sounded like
he was calling from the IRS Commissioner's Office about a serious tax
allegation and I needed to respond within 24 hours. This guy was not
easy to understand, because of political correctness we are conditioned
to expect any government agency to have people working who are not
that conversant in English. So besides having a mild heart tremor I called my Tax Accountant and he confirmed that the IRS only contacts
prospective people they want to audit by mail. He said it was a scam
and to ignore it. I called AT&T to get call blocked but they were less
than helpful. How do these scammers get cell phone numbers should be
a major concern to AT&T and all the phone companies!
Why is this number still in operation as it apparently has been in use 4 years?
Funny Same thing... I picked up a phone call that was a voice automated machine saying i owe the IRS and if i do not comply to follow through and contact them The local Police will come to arrest me and i will be taken into custody. I thought well i better call to see WTH! because each year H&R does my taxes... So when i called the Number 202-204-0479 some Indian Guy picked up... so i asked who they were trying to get ahold of and he told me to hold on and sounded like he flipped a paper then responded with my name but pernounced it wrong, so then i said we'll this is she may i ask what this is about, then he aburtenlly hung up the phone, so then i called back again he anwsered then hung up, called about 6 times and the last time he anwsered and so i said yes i called this number because it showed up in my voicmail then he hung up haha wth, the last time these type of scammers went so far to call my work and try to threaten me, i told them this a goverment facility and i am a goverment employee but before i could finish they hung up and i never heard from the so called DebtCollector of Fincal Instituion blah Something should be done with people like this i mean if your going to steal peoples money and make a living off it @ least be a robbin hood at it #Thieves
