Same content as others have described: guy with thick (India?) accent (and I could hear other callers in background), IRS suing me, $4K plus owed, and that I'd have to report to the local federal courthouse. I received a similar robocall a few days ago, so I knew this time was a scam too... but this was a real person, so I wanted to stall him, maybe run up his long distance bill a little and keep him from so quickly moving onto his next potential victim. I was even ready to give him a fake credit card number! Unfortunately, I must have immediately deviated from his script when I asked the address of the courthouse. He said he would put me on hold to find that out, which is when he hung up. By the way, when international dialing from India, the country code ends with '1' so when this number shows up in caller ID as 11 digits including the '1' at the beginning, it might not even require any hacking skills.
I blocked my number while trying to call this number back 2 different days. I got the recording stating that the number had been removed due to fraudulent abuse. They called again today, both calls happened during work hours! When calling again right after today's call, I got the same recording. How is it that they can call if the number has been removed? Quite puzzling.
Same thing, its been reported to the IRS, and Dept. Of Treasury.
2008- to present and they supposedly called the local police to come pick us up.
Same thing happened to me, I immediately told them it was BS and they needed to send me a letter. They hung up as soon as I said letter
Didn't answer call. Left a message that I was audited and owed the IRS. Called again the next day. But didn't leave a message.
