This is a company where the call centre is outsourced to India for cheap labour. Thus universally everyone you speak to will have an Indian accent. Part of what this agency does is buy debt that is long past provincial or state mandated statutes of limitation,and can no longer be collected unless they get you on recording admitting your name, some identifying bits (birth date and current/past addresses) and admitting you had the debt. Then they will start trying to collect it, hitting your credit and hit you with ceaseless calls.
Most provinces limit debt to 2 to 5 years at the most, then it's dead,can't effect your credit and scrolls off the credit bureau eventually. Most importantly it CANNOT be collected unless you fall into one of these traps giving them personal information. Do not confirm any personal information, not even your name.
Companies seeking to sell you credit like Capital One get a report from Equifax and TransUnion of recent credit applications. It has your name ,phone,and address, says you applied for credit, but that's it. These vulture collection companies ALSO subscribe to these lists, match the name against their seas of ancient unpaid debt and call the contact numbers trying to get you to admit who you are, then to having the debt,THEN they've got you. DO NOT give them any info. You DO NOT HAVE TO PAY this ancient debt, they are vultures, preying on ignorance!

Bogus collection agency asking for our birthdays claiming that we have unpaid Telus bills. Even when I said I knew it was a scam call and saw this number reported on the Internet already, the guy on the other line said that they will keep calling.

Not only did the one guy state he's from Revenue Canada, but he refused to patch me through to a supervisor and give me his name. Stating he didnt have to do either, called back and talked to some bimbo who stated they are allowed to call and harass, and our conversation isn't relevant. The supervisor was more than polite and is screening all calls from them, and will take action.
