Yet another call from Cardholder Services - Now it's Tiffany. I see they are using (or spoofing) a Dominican Republic number. Does this get them out of the telephone wire fraud law since it's technically not a call from within the USA? I don't even bother with trying to speak to the "live" person, knowing they will just hang up.

Automated number called me at 3 pm today. I was asked to 'press 1' if interested in lowering my interest rate on my credit card--without even identifying what credit card or even the carrier (MC; Visa, Amex, Discover). It was an obvious scam. The phone number is permanently blocked.

They said that they could lower the interest rate on my credit card. They hung up the phone after they asked me, "If I was calling to lower my rate." I responded with, "I am trying to find out who's trying to scam me."
