I have a loan with Sallie Mae, but have never received calls from the real company like this. This is harassment. They call constantly, 3+ times per day. It's tiring. I blocked the number but they leave voicemails, saying it's SM calling about an "important business matter" but the VM always sounds the same. Glad I never picked up, when I got the first vm I thought it was real. They usually email (not call) about REAL things regarding my loan, which was the first red flag. Checked my email, nothing from Sallie Mae. These callers are fake, do not give them any info, do not answer.

Constant calls. Up to 10x a day. I do not have loans with Sallie Mae---this is a scam. Recording asks you to return call and when you do, you are directed to enter your social security #.

Yeah. But they're real. They call if you hadn't made a payment, and etc....

They call sometimes 8 times a DAY from 8 in the morning up to 10 at night. This is a business number! I have NEVER had any dealings with Sallie Mae!

She said this is Amber from salliemae it is always a recording wants me to return her call I returned one a recording came on wanting my SS# I hung up.

Trying to get cosigner to pay loan when full loan is through another company. Verified by school.

This is a SCAM Sallie Mae number! Do not give them ANY personal information (like social security #, job, or bank account #). The REAL Sallie Mae already has all of this information and will never ask for it over the phone! They will harass you constantly with "overdue payment" lies. Hang up on them immediately! Call the actual Sallie Mae customer service to see if your loan has any missed payments or problems because the information that this scammer phone number gives you to scare you into sharing personal info, is all lies! The REAL Sallie Mae direct phone number is 1-800-422-5543. Only talk to Sallie Mae from the number that I listed, which is available on the direct Sallie Mae website. Be weary of any emails you get from people claiming to be from Sallie Mae too! These are very skilled scammers that can replicate what an actual Sallie Mae email looks like, in order to trick you. If ever in doubt about the authenticity of an email or phone number regarding your personal financial information, call Sallie Mae directly!
