Scam
Just received a call from "Bryan" with an Indian accent at SDG&E and he told me our business had missed a payment so he would be disconnecting our electricity in one hour. He was calling because he was required by state law. Gave me this phone number to call for "the credit department." After I called and had another guy with an Indian accent pick up, I smelled a rat and hung up and called the # for SDG&E on my bill. We are paid current and this is a SCAM. Beware!! I hope someone catches these jerks.
So cal edison, threatening to shut off power. Somebody catch this guy!
A Hispanic sounding man called on a Saturday saying he was from PPL electric, that he was in a truck on his way to our business to disconnect the power within the hour. Our caller ID said "San Diego, CA" and that it was a landline. I took down the number he gave me, 1-800-213-4724, and asked if PPL was based out of San Diego. He said no, that he was calling from his cell phone, on his way to disconnect our power unless I paid the over due bill over the phone. I knew this was a scam, but when we called the number, they asked for our account number, which we didn't give them, and when we asked where their office was located, they hung up on us. Absolutely a scam! Do not give them any information, and report to the FCC!
