If it is Comcast, why does my caller ID say United States?

Same as everyone else in that they call stating they are comcast and that i owe $39 dollars. I would have thought twice if the "rep" didn't sound so sketchy. I can feel his shadiness just in the tone of his voice. Besides that, unfortunately for them i had just paid my account in full the day before so i knew i had a zero balance. Beware these scammers and call comcast yourself to handle any payments.

I received a phone call from the same number. I screen my calls, so I didn't answer, but the voicemail said the same as it did for someone else: Please call us back at 866-200-4092 so that we can work with you to continue your Comcast service. The first time I got the phone call was yesterday afternoon, and it reminded me that I did have a past-due balance. So, rather than calling back, I went to make my payment online at comcast.com. Today, I got the same phone call, same voicemail. So I logged onto Comcast.com and saw that my payment had posted and there weren't any negative alerts on my account. So I chatted with a rep who assured me that my account is in good standing and to disregard the phone call. She didn't say whether it was a scam or not, but she did say that Comcast's ONLY hotline number is 800-934-6489.

Comcast's normal billing practices are to send you a letter in the mail and/or email you if/when your account is pending disconnection. It is good practice to stay on top of what you do and do not owe. We all get behind at one time or another, but you should know whether you legitimately owe a balance, and if so, how much. Further, don't ever call a phone number other than the one on a legitimate statement that you recognize to be from the billing company for ANY reason, especially to make a payment.

This phone does not belongs to Comcast. Its a scam. When you call. The automatic system answer the call telling you that is Comcast but they want you to leave a message with your info and they will call you back.
