This number has been calling my home phone for at least 3 months, several times a day. I noticed in the remarks above, that this number is associated with Merrick Bank. I have never heard of this bank. They never leave a message, and when I pick up it just goes to dial tone.

Above all don't ride the guilt trip. Trillions of our money are being spent very irresponsibly because someone wasn't doing their job overseeing the mortgage industry. Excellent!!! This is what I have done. I went to Google voice and listed my cell and home phone. When they called I listed them as spam and clicked on Block Caller. Now they get the three tones and "this phone has been disconnected". Since we can't get an address to send a cease and desist letter we have to counter act their tactic until it is no longer effective. You can use the Google Voice spam settings to list their number, they may have many, and you never are bothered by the call. Answer a computer with a computer! Don't let these people intimate you. If your loan defaulted and was written off, that's it, case closed unless the loan originator received a court judgment. They get to write it off their books and improve their lending balance. I guess our wonderful politicians made it legal for them to then sell the paper to collection agencies which should be unlawful (getting write-off then income). If you have to talk to one of these Turkeys, tell them unless they have a contract signed by you, between their company and you, you're not paying a cent. Yes they will start the very weak argument that you signed with credit card company etc,. and that now they bought the paper and therefore you owe them the debt etc., etc. Just tell tell them they have your condolences that they bought bad paper and that they do not have your permission to call you on this phone again! The very idea that I have to put up with this drib on a cell phone that I pay for the minutes. Besides my cell is my work phone. I had one to demand that I take him off speaker phone. My response: "Don't tell me how to use my F**king equipment"! He said he couldn't stand those things. "Fine it's speaker phone or dial tone"! I'm just as impersonal as they are. Who are these people? They have been calling my cell phone number 2-4 times a day including Saturday and Sunday. Even called me on Thanksgiving day! I answer the phone but no one speaks. I am on the No Call List, both Federal and Missouri and I keep getting calls from all sorts of people. One told me he was returning a call from me regarding diabetes. I told him he was a liar since I didn't make the call and neither did my dog and I told him it was none of his business if I am a diabetic and he hung up. Very Middle-eastern accent.

The people constantly calling my number, I called one of the number back and told me they were calling for my sister. When I got a live- I could barely hear her. she told me she is with card services and were looking for that related to me, I then told her that she not at this phone number and could please stop calling my house. Then this chick get smart with me asking then why did she give us your number? Like I'm suppose to know why she my number out and let alone know what bills she got. I'm too busy worried about myown bills. And then she ask me-am I her daughter-I said no, well, how are you aquaintance with her-I told her none of her business. I will gives the person in question the message and have her call you and I told to stop my number, you want a person that bad you have to find them. Alos, told her I didn't like her tone and I consider being harrass by your attiude-since the innocent bystander getting caught up in somebody else mess!

They called me repeatedly looking for someone I don't know, the opposite sex go figure. Anyway, here is some info that may be true or not according to the rep I spoke with.

She stated her name was Mrs. McMiller with Cardwork Services and something about Tmerrick Bank, PO Box 9201 in Old Bethpage, NY 11804.

This time I hit the "1" prompt to act is if I was this Rhonda or Wanda they were asking for, but obviously a guy. I warned her of being sued for calling not only the wrong person as I had was prompted to do by keypad several phone calls before which did not stop the calls by the way. She insisted to talk to this phantom woman, but I began to question and fume with her why she was contacting a person on the "Do not call list" and she could be personally liable in small claims court for calling me.

One more piece of important info is if you have CPC on your phone service, which I believe is somewhat antiquated, but I may have it, this is really something to use for your advantage. Try this: When they call back, act like you are that person and want to talk with them. Once they get on the phone, do NOT hang up because if you still have the CPC on your line, they will not be able to disconnect from you to call others. In other words, you will keep them tied up for hours potentially. Also, do not let them transfer you to a Supervisor because that will be the way to get you off the line. Be firm, direct and that you are in control. Good luck!
