Scam call: April 6, 2016: I have received 3 calls already (1 hour a part) from "Officer Marshall Brown" from the IRS in the form of a recorded message with the use of voice recognition software. The message states that this person is calling from the "Fraud Investigation Dept of the IRS". The call goes on: "The matter at hand is extremely time sensitive and urgent and after audit we found that there was a fraud and misconduct on your tax which you are hiding from the federal government. This needs to be recified immediately so do return the call as soon as you receive the message. The number is 202 600 4268 again 202 600 4268. Thank you." Since I know that this is a known scam, I have not returned the call.

When I got home from work I had 2 messages from a computer generated voice of a supposed Officer Brown from the fraud/investigative department from the IRS. What a joke.

I received a call from 202-600-4268. They left a voicemail saying that they were from the U.S. Treasury Department and that I needed to contact them as soon as possible (and some other threat that I could not make out). I called the number back and spoke with a man with a very heavy Indian accent. He said that there were numerous miscalculations on my taxes from a previous year. He then asked me what my name was. I told him that I wanted more information. He said that I had a $1,950 outstanding balance and that there was a warrant for federal taxes. I informed him that both my husband and I filed jointly. He then paused and said that even though I filed jointly, my taxes were the only one in default. He also said that even though we filed jointly, once it reached the IRS, our files were separated. I told him that my accountant processed my taxes and that the only thing that I presented were my W-2's. I asked him how could this possibly have happened. Then he said that my accountant made a mistake and that he was going to be sending a police officer at my door within the next 45 minutes to have me arrested for tax evasion. I told him to kiss my a$$ and then I hung up the phone. I called back once more to try and see if the same person answered the phone and this is how the conversation went: Male: Hello? Me: Who am I speaking to? Male: Hal (Haayul) Wilson. Me: What company is this? Male: This is a scam. Me: What? Male: It is a scam. Me: Why are you calling my home giving me bogus information. What is your purpose? Male: I like the sound of your voice and I want to have sex with you. Me: (Hung up the phone). Please note that while I was speaking with both males, I could hear several other male voices speaking (what sounded like phones) in the background.

Male voice, threatens that if you don't drop everything and call back right now, the State Police will show up at your door, and then he says, "Have a nice life." You can tell this is a scam. The U.S. Dept. of Treasury would never call someone out of the blue. And even if they did (which again they would NEVER do), they would identify themselves and ask for a specific person. They also would not be threatening. I believe these calls are illegal and that the caller could actually be sued in court.

I've had these calls at my home, and now they've started at our office as well. These people need to get a life and start actually working rather than trying to take advantage of people!! They are probably on welfare and being taken care of by us taxpayers since they sure seem to have ALOT of time to make these stupid calls!!!

Received two call from this number within an hour leaving the same message as those above: started in the middle of a sentence stating the number then repeating the number. If we or our attorney did not call them back then all he can do is wish us a happy life and state law enforcement would be at our door very soon.

Just receive a voicemail from this number. Started In the middle of a sentence, just said the phone number, and that if they don't hear from me or my attorney, he wishes me a happy life as law enforcement will be showing up at my door.
