Got the call today, same story. I called the back, had a horrid connection, but told the young man who answered that I am on the donotcall.gov registry, that I report all such phone calls, and that I would have no problem having my lawyer sue them for using a government agency name and for harassment. He apologized. I reported.

i called back the number and they must have called id they knew the number calling them, i gave them a fake birth date and they couldn't confirm it from a basic internet search on me, so the got spooked, i asked to speak with a manager, and they were all out to lunch at 3 pm... i got to get me a government job!! Big time scam, though i do enjoy calling them back and giving them a hard time

Received a voice mail indicating there was a lawsuit going forward from the IRS and subsequent arrest warrant being issued. When I called back they said the same thing but I could settle the matter by going to my bank withdrawn 7500. And then they would provide me with either a Wells Fargo account or Bank of American account,to deposit the funds to. I gave them a fake name and asked them to provide me my social, they provided a number but it was not my social. I hung up saying that the call wAs ridiculous! Beware I heard a lot of background talking where operators were indicating they were the IRS.

Stern female voice says "we have been trying to call you" and warns IRS is about to file a lawsuit. She provides a 202 number to call, which I did not write down. Total scam.

It was a robocall saying it was a final notice from the IRS. The call sounds like a scam but I did not listen for a long time.
