irs scam
Scam
My story is the same. They had my information. Thick accent named Officer Mark Lopez. Was read an affidavit and asked if I had a criminal lawyer. Also said tried contacting me twice and has photos of when notices were left. Threatened that by hanging up an officer would be at my house to arrest me for tax evasion. He repeated himself several times when I said I did not understand what he was talking about. Again he threatened that in would be arrested if I hung up.
Badge was RVR0752
Called me twice today, which I finally called back the second time.I received a call today that I was being sued by the IRS. His name was "Officer Brandon Walter"; as someone earlier pointed out, he had a thick accent despite the American sounding name. He stated it was for the years of 2008-2012 and asked for my last name and address. When I refused to give it to him, he also threatened me with facing the IRS attorneys in court. I told him that I was about to call the IRS directly at (800) 829-1040 he said I am an officer for the IRS,but I told him I would feel more comfortable discussing with someone from that number and he immediately hung up on me!!! FRAUD ALERT
Called me twice today, which I finally called back the second time. He was Officer Patrick Walter again. Told me I was being sued by the IRS, asked if I was middle initial R or L so he would be able to pull up my file. Asked for my zip, but couldn't give me my correct address. If I didn't cooperate "I would face the consequences in court". Total scam.
