I noticed I had a missed call and listened to the voicemail in which a woman stated I was being sued by the IRS and to call 206-823-3339 to get details. I googled the number first and saw it was a home line out of Seattle, Washington. That's Washington STATE not DC. Against my better judgement, I called the number to see what kind of scam this was. The phone rang once and was answered by a man with a heavy Indian accent. I made sure not to provide my name or information and sure enough he called me by my name. I let him continue to speak and when I asked what this was about he said "Please, this is a recorded line, so you are not to interrupt me at any point until I am done speaking, is this clear?" I said "Whatever, go on."
He continued to tell me they have been auditing my finances since 2010 and that the IRS has proof of me purposely providing false information for my tax returns and that they will seize my assets, including my car, and my house (imaginary I guess since I don't own a home), my passport, and if I was from another country, I would be deported immediately. He also tells me that I will have a warrant out for my arrest and my life as I know it will cease. At this point I am laughing hysterically and he is becoming irate with me. As fun as it was, I can only take so much BS and told him I needed his name and ID number and to give me the toll free number for the IRS because I was not releasing any information to anybody without first verifying he in fact works for the IRS.
He yelled at me for interrupted and scolded me like a 5 year old. I repeated my request for his name because there are hundreds of employees there and that his employer would not like to waste precious time doing employee verifications (pffttttt!!), and he says there is no point in my paranoia because he has not asked me for any money. I told him he just hasn't had a chance to ask for anything because i was calling him out on his scam. I told him if he was in fact from IRS they would initiate this process with a LETTER not a voicemail. (I have had to deal with the IRS before and actually have a friend who works for IRS in DC.)
After about 5 minutes he finally gave me the name "Jacob Parker". I told him that's BS to give me his real name because I was going to check with the IRS. I also told him when you call the IRS you NEVER get straight to someone without having prompts to go through first, and you will NEVER get someone in less than 4 minutes (I told you, I have experience calling the IRS). After failed attempts to get his real name and I have now asked to be transferred to his supervisor, whom is "busy with scheduled meetings all day today," I then realized while sitting in my car on the phone with him that my boyfriend's bible is on the dashboard in front of me and I open it and start to preach the good word to him until he gets a supervisor of any sort for me. I read 2 verses before he hung up.

Automated voicemail saying I'm being sued by the IRS. My taxes are backed with 100% guarantee for audits. Please... The US IRS Dept. would not leave that type of voicemail without sending a certified letter first. Bye.

I received a call today automated first and then I called back...he kept saying that I was being sued by the IRS for purposely defrauding the US government...he said I would be arrested that their would be a lean on my house all my properties would be confiscated and that my account would be frozen...I told him I did my taxes through H&R Block and turbo tax and I know they have an auditing policy...I was panicking I believed this was real...he said I had been sent a letter and it showed I had indeed received it about this matter. He continually threatened to have the warrant made and have me arrested if I didn't pay the amount of $500 today. I told him he would just have to send them bc I didn't have that kind of money. He also asked me how much money I did have in my account in which I informed him none which is true my account is currently overdrawn. I told him to just go ahead and send the police...then his tone of voice changed from rude and badgering to nice and "helpful" he said he would help me and not to worry he would not send the police to my door and that he would take care of the matter...u don't just "take care" of it...that's when I realized it was a scam if it was real they would have tried to set up some kind of payment plan or something I feel like...I'm pretty sure that the IRS will work with you as long as you r cooperative. It was an Indian man I spoke with.

I also received a call from an Indian man stating that I was going to be arrested if I didn't agree to pay almost 3k from an IRS audit of 2008-2015 records and if I decided to get an attorney, I'd pay 85k. He became rude and threatening when I stated that I needed to see evidence of an audit in writing, and that I would be arrested today. I've reported this to the IRS site and have been calling IRS to find out if there's any truth to this? I never received notification of anything.......
