The Texas Senior Medicare Patrol has received several complaints about Medicare/Social Security scam calls from 281-648-8775. The female robocaller says that “there are legal enforcement actions filed against [the recipient] and [the recipient’s] Social Security has been suspected for fraudulent activities.” The recording all says that the recipient should call the above number to resolve the issue. THIS IS A SCAM. Report these scams to the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov), the Social Security Office of the Inspector General (https://www.ssa.gov/fraudreport/oig/public_fraud_reporting/form.htm), the Medicare Office of the Inspector General (https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/report-fraud/index.asp) and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org). DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR MEDICARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY IDS. Check your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs). If you see that Medicare has been billed for equipment or prescriptions that neither you nor your doctor has ordered, report that information immediately to 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org).
