"Mike" from Windows. Asked me if I was "near" my computer. I've had these calls before so I thought I would play along for a few minutes. Said I had problems with my computer and I had to give him access to it so they could fix the problems. I told him I'd had calls like this before and called him a scammer - then hung up. Also told him I had the best firewall money could buy and there was NO way he could know if my computer had problems.

BEWARE - Fraudulent call - called my personal cell phone and said they are from Microsoft Windows and they are calling about my computer. I do not have a home computer, so my response was "No, that's not true" and the woman disconnected.

Never answer these calls, your phone is hackable just like a laptop
if you answer the call you just opened the back door to your phone.
(It's why there is no one there when you answer)
Same as you should never open a unknown Email.. and don't ever call
these numbers back.. once they get in your phone they can get in
your home wifi...DON'T EVER ANSWER UNKNOWN PHONE NUMBERS is sucks
but that is the facts of the technology we use every day..If it's important
the person will leave you a message.. You can get free phone number
blockers form google play or other app stores.

Said she was calling from Microsoft regarding Windows. I asked how she got my phone number and she said it was linked to my registration. I asked why she was calling from a local number and she said t was a satellite number. I asked her what version of Windows I had because I was skeptical that I provided a Microsoft with my phone number when I registered my computer, which did not originally come with Windows 10 (I only upgraded about two months ago from 8.1). She hung up. I tried to call the number back and the message I got said it says Verizon Wireless number. Obviously phishing or spam

In short: IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY ANSWER JUST HANG UP, AND BLOCK THE NUMBER. Terror. Deceit. Harassment. Cost trap. FRAUD!!!

Called by woman "from Microsoft Windows" the with an unidentifiable accent so thick I had no clue if she ever had the right number... After 10 minutes hands phone off to man with fairly interpretative accent, still indistinguishable. Has all the necessary info on me, my account, and computer to convince me he's really calling from Microsoft.

I explain assertively it was a horrible time to talk as my sister's small children were running into a swimming pool without me. However he has me so convinced I was hacked TEN DAYS AGO that I was concerned for my 30 day old laptop.

After a lengthy and very taxing exchange including his unwelcome access into my terminal, showing me all these hacks ultimately an hour later attempts to sell me a $99-$299 anti-hack program.

I had been cussing him out hostily with vigor for an hour during which he repeatedly comments how funny I am (I'm dead ass seriously furious, whats funny?) but after going full throttle aggro to no avail, it occurred to mention the following: informing I was part of a presidential campaign and was monitored by DHS & Secret Service, then he promptly hung right on up.

As my concern for the kids was priority I walked away from computer. Came back to find serious hacking software, and viral loads installed. Ultimately the prior Hacks they referred to were legit but planted by them, (thanks to tracing tools).

Now 48 hours later I'm still working on reversing the damage. Law enforcement isn't interested. They are not being stopped. They are in no way shape or form connected to ANY legit service. I REPEAT, DON'T ANSWER, GIVE INFO... JUST HANG UP, BLOCK, AND AND REPORT.
