It is a scam to get your credit card number. It originates out of Florida mainly targeting Canadians. The phone number is probably spoofed. Someone said it is a Google Voice number. Never give any personal information over the phone to anyone who calls you. Not even your name or address. Shred your garbage. Shut off Bluetooth. Never keep any personal information on your computer. Never give out your email address. Never open email from someone you don't know. Never click on a link if you do. Never auto save passwords. In fact never order online. Even safe sites can be compromised. Nothing is safe anymore. Fraud is a multi billion dollar industry.

The strange number made us not pick up the phone. Then, we searched the number in Google and we were right, this was a "you've won a trip to Cancun" type of call.

Received a call from 407-588-7840 claiming I had won a trip to Mexico. To claim the prize I had to give them my credit card number...SCAM! Probably just stealing credit card numbers for fraud.

Same telemarketing call from the number above! Called me at the middle of work on my cellphone. I'm in Canada too so I hate these kinds of calls which are just a complete waste of my time as well as cellular minutes!

They're giving away a trip to Cancun, Mexico. But, if you're one of 100 people who press 1 first, they'll throw in 5 nights in Orlando with 2 amusement park tickets. Yeah, not worth the spam that I'll get afterward. Press 2 and you'll go on the "do not call" list. Let's see how soon they'll call here again. I hate telemarketers 8-)

Same number as called above - I too am in Canada and am sick of getting these ridiculous calls! So much for the "do not call" list - they can't seem to keep up!

So, if anyone ever reading this is calling from the number we're complaining about - "P" off will ya?!?!?

Alas! Yet another telemarketer selling something... or so I assume. I did not recognize the number and know that the area code is Florida (I don't know anyone in Florida) so I naturally did the only good thing... quick pick up-hand up.

They've called twice in the last two days, I'm in Canada so what ever they're selling I wouldn't want anyway. I would suspect someone trying to sell cruise tickets.

Times are hard - I would imagine the cruise lines are hurting too. Wouldn't want to see their phone bill at the end of this campaign though. Hardee har har! Next time, I think I'll just pick up and leave the receiver on the desk while I do laundry or something useful.
