Same phone call here. I been get 3 to calla per day for about a week. I just don't answer the phone. However, my concern is different. A few month ago a close friend, suffering from health and financial problems received a similar call. He went into his garage and committed suicide. Sure want these animals caught.
I got the same message stating they were the IRS and they are suing me (the IRS won't file a lawsuit against you, they just make a decision that you owe them money) and I called them back. This is a SCAM! When I called back it sounded like a room full of telemarketers all chattering and saying they were the IRS. I played along for a few minutes to make sure and when I told the lady that I have dealt with the IRS before and that they send notices by mail she said not only did they send me notices but "Agent Brown" actually drove to my residence regarding the matter. Oh wow! The IRS does housecalls to personally deliver messages now?! I continued to ask her questions about the letter id number and further information on the dates which tripped her up and I also said it's odd to get a direct line to the IRS usually you have a number that you get prompts through or a specific agent's name to that agents direct line. Finally I told her I know this is a Bullsh*t SCAM and she hung up on me! So I called her back and kept saying WHY DID YOU HANG UP ON ME?! YOU HUNG UP ON ME! WHY DID YOU HANG UP ON ME?! She must have looked at the caller id (which I tried calling private but just got a busy signal over and over) and saw it was me to which she replied "get a job" and hung up on me again! It felt kinda good to annoy the scammers for once. I also reported the phone number to the IRS's department for phone scams. I encourage you to do the same:)
