Red Flag No 1. An indian accent with an american name. Really? How stupid does he think we are?

Yep called me twice today. I didn't answer, let the machine pick up. Kevin Mason. 5102560366. I called back to give him the riot act and no one picked up. So I checked it out here and found out what I thought in the first place, that it was a scam

I was just called as well. Didn't get initial person's name (heavy accent), although she told me she was with US Treasury and her Badge No. was 11537. Told me that I owed $4500 from 2012, and gave me dates in 2013 and 2014 when I had been sent notices. Told me that if I wanted to see the notice, then they would send an agent to my house to arrest me and I would spend 6 months in jail. Alternatively, she could put me on the phone with her supervisor, who would take a "payment commitment" from me. The catch was that, "pursuant to federal law", I cannot discuss this situation with anyone, including an attorney or accountant, until I make payment. I then asked to speak to the supervisor, who identified himself as Anthony Cooper, Badge No. 11738. When I asked him where he was located, he disconnected me. I called back and asked to speak to him, and when I identified myself I was disconnected again. Terrible!

Another wanna be tax scam. You'd think by now, the scammers would realize we are on to them. Called me today: they are now in my Annoying Spam Caller folder.

Same thing - message from 'Kevin Mason' @ 510-256-0366 on a loop, threatening legal action. Second call in a few days - I wish someone would shut this guy down.

This guy calls our phone at least once a week too. We just ignore, but it is annoying!

I received a call as well. Sad!

They called me five times today. I called back and told that there was an arrest warrant out for me for tax evasion. I went along with it and was told that I needed to pay $6,580. from 2009 and 2010. I asked if they knew my SS number and said they couldn't state any of it over the phone because the call was being recorded. I asked them where to mail the check and told them that I already had the IRS's address and I was suddenly cut off. I tried to call back only to find that my number had been blocked.

I got a call from good Kevin too. It smelled of a scam with the foreign accent (but these days with open borders, you can't be too sure). When i told them the US Treasury doesn't have phone numbers with a 510 area code they hung up on me. Only the feeble minded will fall for this.
