11/28/10 Received call from computer generated voice system asking me for my jpmorgan chase account information. I notified JPmorgan of the suspicious call. must be a phishing scam
This is a phishing scam and a pretty convincing one at that. I contacted my bank after receiving this call and they confirmed that the number is not on their numbers list. If you have given them your info you should contact your bank and cancel your card.
If you ever receive unexpected calls from your bank the best practice is to hang up and call your bank directly from the back of the card to follow up. Make sure to take notes about the caller before you call so you can confirm if the call was legit or not.
I have had it... I have been receiving text messages and phone calls. I called back it is either busy or I just waited 15 minutes to be told (by a recording) that the person at the extension was available and the mailbox full. What a waste of human time. Any ideas how to handle this? Attorney General?
When you call the number, it keeps you on the line for a while (5+ minutes) while listening to crappy music and then routes you to a full mailbox.
Call was supposed to be a taped message from Chase about a deactivated credit card. But I do not have and never had a Chase card. It's gotta be a scam!
