bridal scam
I received a call from this number this past weekend. She had to leave a message because I was busy. My fiance throught it sounded fishy too. I called and left a message before I gooled this. When they call back, I am going to ignore there call. Who has time for this crap. I believe David's Bridal must of sold my information:(
OK, so I went to one of these. Here's the final word on this Global Lifestyles thing.
My fiance and I had been to a bridal expo the weekend before and filled out several cards for raffles/drawings/promotions, none of which were Global Lifestyles. My fiance was excited to receive a call declaring that she had won a free honeymoon! Hooray!
So clearly one of the stands we visited had sold our info to Global Lifestyles (by the way, why is a company that sells cookware and cutlery called "Global Lifestyles"? And wtf is with their webpage? "Your future is our business today". What does that have to do with anything? A picture of people standing next to the pyramids? Not one single pot or pan on the home page?) But I digress....
The presentation was 90 minutes of pure misery. I attempted to gouge out my ear drums several times to distract myself from the pain, only to be thwarted by my fiance. The cookware itself was ridiculously overpriced and an unbelievable rip-off (something like $1,500 for a 10-piece set). The presenter bragged about the "special" 30-50% off we get if we buy the cookware that night, only later to say that you can only buy these products at a showing like this (so how is this a discount if it's impossible to buy anywhere at full price?) There wasn't a person in the room over 25 so they were obviously targeting young, inexperienced consumers.
So, as promised, we were not required to purchase anything. As soon as the presentation was over, we asked what we needed to do to get our free hotel stay. We were handed a paper with a validation code and the Terms and Conditions of our hotel rental.
We found out that the hotel rental actually goes through another company, the Odenza Marketing Group. You need to pay a $100.00 deposit fee to Odenza, which I found through some reading has a decent chance of not finding its way back to you. After a quick Google Search on this Odenza Marketing Group, I found nothing but bad things and more shadiness: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/odenza-marketing-group-c246492.html
Here are some excerpts from the Terms and Conditions:
"All vacation offers are subject to Odenza's availability and promotional inventory." [Odenza rents a certain number of hotel rooms and them rents them to you. So you go by whatever they have available; not the hotel.]
"Odenza reserves the right to offer an alternate travel date and or destination." [So they can literally just change your reservation however they see fit.]
"Check in for this offer will take place from Sunday through Wednesday only. Travel is not permitted during any State, Provincial or Federal Holiday. Additional charges may apply for travel during peak periods." [So if the summer is considered a peak period, and you have a job, you basically can't use this promotion even if you wanted to.]
"Odenza reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice." [Never a good thing to see written in any terms and conditions. You gotta at least admire their courage for just blatantly putting this in there.]
Bottom line, completely ignore this offer if you get it. Scam, scam, scam. Call the bridal expos you attend to complain about allowing this crap to go on at what should be a legitimate event that prescreens this kind of BS.

Thank you for taking the time out to give all this information to other people who ultimately will be scammed by these indecent people. I appreciate this; I won't even bother calling them.

Yeah thank u, I was pretty sure this was a scam but u never know i guess?
Basically the same call as the rest of you: I've won a bridal package/trip in a national bridal drawing and i need to call back to reserve my spot. I'm almost tempted to call back to mess with her, but it's not worth my time.
i also just got a call from them, i am to meet at a hotel tomorrow at some expo thing to claim my gift the woman told me we get the hotel and coupons for free and 50% off flights! is it real or a scam! should i go or not??????
