Guy called representing Ziff-Davis, asking to sign me up for a free e-seminar. They had an email address for me that was consistent with one that I use when signing up for free magazine subscriptions. I assume that this number is a call center for hire for various campaigns.
Call me today, 1524, 09Oct09, representing "Web Buyer's Guide." Refused to give me the name of the owner of the call center, including a supervisor to whom I talked. Polite, patient, and didn't hang up on my no matter how nasty I became. I'm on the DNC list, and I made my report that will be no earthly good, since latest reports show that the DNC does nothing.
The "Web Buyer's Guide" on line looks like a big company, so don't know where the legitimacy is in all of this.
depending on which reverse lookup you use they are either in Chicago or Union IL but this is what I found

I just got a call with this phone number and ask to talk to
one of our VP so they can renew some magazine.
I put them on hold in in seconds they hanged up.
I noticed that I get a lot of call s on Friday from these kind
of people.
They will take their phone off of the hook for a long time if you bother them enough. Anyone receiving calls from this number: return fire! Maybe we can get them shut down or at least shut up and paranoid.

And I do mean off the hook. When I called at 3 AM, they took the phone off the hook and left it there. I heard breathing and shuffling of feet and then nothing. But, the call was still connected. Gonna try staying on past morning next time. lol
