Had a call from this number today stating they were representing "RCL Group" and they were verifying I was home to receive process paperwork for a lawsuit being filed against me. I told them "no", I hadn't made any such appointment. They gave me my month & year of birth to verify my identity but I didn't confirm it was me, just said they had the wrong person. I hung up but they called back and left voicemail saying I needed to call 1-844-383-2931 for more info on the lawsuit and gave me a 6 digit file number to reference. Obviously, I didn't call the number back. It's a phishing scam, no question.

They actually called my girlfriends phone and left a message saying that I had a outstanding warrant for my arrest which is not true at all, and that I must contact them right away. This is a scam people.

I got a number to call from a "process server" that gave me the number 844-383-8831 to call. They said that I had a court date for intent to defraud a financial institution and suit for over $3000. As well as telling me that if I failed to appear that the judge would issue a bench warrant. People, do not believe this BS. Intent to defraud and a suit are two separate issues. One is criminal, one is civil - they do not get combined. I was told I had "charges" against me. A civil matter cannot press charges. Furthermore, for this alleged criminal charge is over 5 years past the statute of limitations. Also, I was told if I did not appear the judge would issue a bench warrant. In a civil case this does not happen. The judge does not care if you show or not. You just lose automatically. I returned the call after being hung up on after the refused to tell me where they were located and made it appear as though they were working for the county. Debtors prisons do not exist in the USA. I called them again and asked were they not used to a person who knows the law and his rights? Not worried about it anyway because in my state they cannot garnish wages for bills owed such as this one.
