This number has called three times so far today, always an automated voicemail urging me to call back, trying to make it sound official. I hit *67 to block my number & got an immediate busy signal. I think they are definitely up to no good. Would like to call them, play along & see what happens but will probably just block their number.

Didn't answer, but the voice mail was an automated message referring to my "case number" and that I should call them immediately. Blocked the number.

Automated call claiming to be the IRS and that they had been trying to reach me. This was notice of a Law Suit. I was given a number to call... I did not call it. I have gotten these calls before so I know it is a scam. If you go to the IRS web site it states that The IRS Will Never:
Call to demand immediate payment over the phone, nor will the agency call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill.
Threaten to immediately bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying.
Demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe.

Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone.

100% scammer with a computer generated voice saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me - DO NOT ANSWER!

Call stating it was the IRS & they'd been trying to reach me, and this was about a law suit. I did call back & gave a different first name - they promptly hung up on me!!

Automated voice said: "This is the IRS. Please call back on our department number."

Same. Message said IRS is suing me and call this number. IRS never uses robo-calling to contact individuals.

Scan saying they are the IRS and am being sued.
