Phone rang and my protection app identified it as known spam so I let it go to voicemail. Claimed to be Chase fraud dept, and left a number for me to call them back about a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Instead, I called the number on the back of my card and indeed there was a fraudulent charge. So this 888 number was seemingly legit, but there sure are a number of people who have identified this as spam, or as the IRS!!

They're throwing a few red flags, but they appear to be legitimate. I went through some extra effort to verify them because the timing worked out correctly, I'm guessing some scammers are spoofing this caller ID to appear legitimate.

This number is listed as an IRS scam, but it's actually Chase Bank. I don't know how to undo this, because it has 84% scam score rate

Called and said from JP Morgan chase about a chase sapphire card application. Asked for SAN to verify. Hung up and called ID shield. Googled the number and found this. Obviously a phishing scam trying to get info

Received a call verifying my address for my Chase Credit Card application. It was approved live on the call and I received an email immediately after confirming. As far as I can tell it was not a Scam.

I got a call from this number saying they were from Fraud Prevention Chase Freedom Card and wanted to confirm some information. They asked me to call back another 800 213 9432 number. I was leary so I called the number I had for Chase and they confirmed this was a REAL Chase call wanting to verify that I had just applied for a Credit Card. So it really is Chase just checking to make sure it is really us opening a card.

Male voice He may have had my name. I have been having problems with my Chase Account for the last two weeks and have talked to people in their Fraud Department more than once. I thought that it was due to some transfers that I had made. When this fellow said that he needed to verify some information that he had, I told him "I do not know who you are, Go to hell" and hung up.

Fraud call claiming to be from Chase. Have never ever had any account or dealing with Chase.

We have been contacted by individuals utilizing this number on at least 4 separate occasions over the past week. Each time they state they are from Chase and need us to supply them with documents after our number has been verified. Our Executive Director contacted Chase this morning and a few minutes ago they responded verifying that this number (888-373-1969), is not in any way associated with Chase Bank. It is a scam.

Voicemail. Claimed to be Chase Fraud Department. I looked up the number and it’s fraud. I did recently apply for a Chase card but do not have it yet. I think more telling is they called Thanksgiving Day. Something is seriously wrong and thief’s may be hacked into Chase’s credit card application server. Gov’t need to do something with all these hackers and companies that permit such thefts.......good luck with that I say to myself!
