Why You Should Watch Out for Government Scam Calls

Spam calls made by people who are trying to impersonate a legitimate government agency are commonly referred to as "government scams". These scammers make the calls to try to get private information from the people they are calling. The most common government agency scammers try to pose as is the IRS. They will call people and tell them they are wanted by the police for tax fraud or unpaid taxes. These calls can be very convincing, as they will tell you your full legal name as well as your address or social security number. However, they are scam calls are should not be trusted. Other agencies these robocalls pose as are the Social Security Administration, Medicare, the FBI, or police departments. All of these calls are spam calls and the callers are committing a crime, so you should not wire money to them or confirm your bank account information. The best thing to do when you believe you are unsure if you are having a conversation with a scammer is to hang up and call the real agency. True government agencies can be trusted and they will confirm whether or not you are wanted for a crime or have not paid your taxes.

888-582-3359 women Alicia spoke rapidly, something about Asscociate, told me to call back, something to do with a show me date? Disregard-this call, iy must be a scam or bogos caller. Do not waste your time.

called wanted to talk to me but would not identify who they were business they represented or why they were calling, they repeatedly ignored my request to identify themselves and talked over me, so I hung up and have entered them into my phone contacts as a scam call.

They called and asked if this was me and wanted to verify my birthdate. I said "Mam I won't give you any information until you tell me who you are and what this call is in reference too. She said her name was Jancine, then proceeded to verify my birth date. I did not confirm. I said "Excuse me m'am, I am asking you again to tell me what this is about and I will not indulge any personal information to you." She responded with "Well thank you m'am and have a nice day". Hung up. Why do they think they will get anywhere like that?

A woman called me an said i owed a hosp.bill an asked me what my insurance numbers were.but wouldnt give a name.

I'm freaked out cause I don't know how they got my number - I just got a new prepaid phone with an area code and number out of this country and they called me a few days later. . . I've been harassed by half-wits from different scams and numbers for a while so I changed it. I only call when necessary and no one knows my number and I call from restricted, how did this happen?

I called back and someone said their name was Paige. I had my number restricted- refused to say it and she hung up. I called again- and "all representatives are assisting other callers". . .etc. I called a third time and waited and waited and when they answered, I told them I thought they were a scam. Another girl said "okay, this is not a scam, this is a company." I asked for info "to look up on Google." They said "REVENUE RECOVERY CORPORATION. I said "OKAY WHAT REVENUE DO YOU COLLECT." They hung up. I recorded everything. And have copies. Should I turn it in to the police?

I got a call from this number today an they left a message and said they was a dept collector. It was a man didn't ask for anyone just said they was a debt collectori am getting tired of this crap internet is just getting bad with people that want to still ur stuff
