This number called me every night for almost two weeks at 6pm exactly but never left a message. I finally answered and they said it was Spectrum and I owed money on the equipment I didn't return. I said I returned everything. She asked if I had a receipt and I said yes. She said to send it to DR-CRTDocuments@charter.com. I thought it was odd but I sent the receipt that had no account info just the equipment SN and UPS tracking number. The email came back with a failure to send. I've since blocked the phone number.

I received a call telling me I owed money on my account which I thought was odd because we have autopay set up. The woman on the phone said she was sending me a verification code and wanted me to give it to her. It was the one time code they send when you lock yourself out of your online account. Fortunately, I realized that was strange - why would I give you a verification code you generated. I told the person I thought it was odd and would call them back. Called the spectrum number on our bill they confirmed it was a scam. He said A) You would receive an auto message and a letter for past due balances B) They ask for your security code or a security question you set up. C) He confirmed that these are scams that are happening and they want to go into your account to access your billing information. Just out of curiosity I called the original number back and it sounds like an automated answering system for Spectrum and it says "Thank you for calling spectrum..." but biggest difference is that when you call the real spectrum it lists out all the departments "if you are calling about, press..."(you know where it's difficult to reach a person) whereas this fake number immediately goes to "please press any key to speak with an agent." It's a pretty convincing scam overall but you can never reach a real live person that fast!
This area code keeps calling and I'm suspect a scam
2-11-22. Expecting this call from Spectrum relating to an appointment Reminder for cable transfer later today. Told ahead of time not to push any option buttons, though, or it would cancel the appointment. (I did not answer it because I don't know the number and they could not arrange for this automated robocall to back-to-back repeat). Supposedly one more call later today to tell me the contractor's name and that they will arrive on location within an estimated time. (I have asked to be present and to speak with field people before they start). They did tell me that if I did not answer from this number to confirm the appointment that it should not make a difference. Will report again, later, if this does not work out the way Spectrum Dispatch people say it will. They have previously been "no-show" and claimed they made a call to me that did not come through (so they closed the previous work ticket).
