The number is legitimate. I logged into my CITI account, and indeed, there was an 'alert' on one of my accounts. I called the CITI number (on the back of the card itself) and they confirmed it.

SCAM! Got an email saying my payment was past due. No it wasn’t. I bought 1 item and paid for it in full a long time ago. How interesting that it’s people from INDIA are taking our customer calls and handing the information to thieves from their own country. Macy’s, get your act together! I never responded to the scammer and blocked the email address it came from, which is: DoNotReply@info8.accountonline.com

I just received a call saying my payment was past due, but it is not due until June 21, 2022. They said they can take the payment free of charge over the phone, I decline and hung up b/c first of all I could barely understand what the man was saying to me.

Macy’s is not under Citibank. Ask ur Macy’s rep and they will tell u their bank partner

Received a call from this number for CITI bank... It's changing to another credit card company. What a scam. Auto responder. Why is there no carrier to stop this nonsense?

Caller: For Citi bank

Credit card fraud report. Call back number provided.

Recorded message from Macy's stating call is for someone I do no not know. Says account is past due and needs to go to the automated system or call the 800 number. No way to dispute the wrong number for the person they are trying to reach, but will call me 2 times a day for the past 5 days. Most likely a SCAM, or they have been SCAMED by the lady they are trying to make contact with. Either way They are blocked!!!

Showed up as Macy's on caller ID. Since we just bought something there, wondered if there was a recall or something. There was a long pause, the kind that tells you a robot called you and is not contacting someone on the other end. Almost hung up but...Recalls sometimes use robot dialers to reach people.
But, the INSTANT the woman opened her mouth with a THICK barely understandable Indian accent claiming to be collections for Macy, I hung up since A. We're on autopay. B. We JUST bought it so nothing is due yet. C. Nothing could have gotten to collections 7 days from purchase. We already blocked them before coming here to check things out. Sorry to see these assholes are bothering other people too.

Yes I was called and told I had an outstanding balance of $29 that was going to collection. ( not my account number )

Caller: Macys

These people harassed a 92 year old woman with dementia because she was 30 days late on a $50 bill... after being a PERFECT PAYER for over 50 years (Marshall Fields). oh how I wish it was still MARSHALL FIELDS!

Requested my full ss number and could not explain why.

Their called ID shows 727-556-5000 and you are asked to call 800-947-6229 and to enter your Macy’s card number. If you do not have it, they ask you to enter your full social security number. Total fraud and dangerous scam

I get calls from this number multiple times a day. I'm 90 years old and still very coherent, and this is harassment. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.

They are horrible people. I already told my situation to the first girl I spoke with 2 weeks ago and she noted the payment I made and my situation. Unfortunately, these people from Macy's collections or whatever they call themselves and with their thick accent which makes it hard to understand keeps on calling 5-6 times a day starting from 8:30am until 6pm. They don't care about your situation. They will just keep on bothering people.

SCAM!

Caller: unknown

See my report of 7/6/2020.

Rec'd call at 8:15 A.M. local time. I didn't answer and no message was left. CID only showed phone # and "800 Service."

This number has called my Google Voice number 13 times since the middle of March 2020. Typically they'll call once every day at various random times from early afternoon to early evening. They'll call like this for 3 or 4 days, then skip a few days or a week, then start again. On all occasions but one the calls were blocked by Google, marking them as "spam". The one time they got through I didn't recognize the number so I let it through to voicemail, but the caller left no message. After reviewing the call history, I also blocked the number directly on the phone.

It's good to know the spam recognition and blocking software is all working--I was never interrupted. However without additional information I can't identify who this persistent caller is. I assume from the behavior that this is a debt collector, but I can't honestly confirm it.

They asked me to pay 1045 dollars, saying that they want to close my account and other things.
