scam wants private Info
actual person called about credit card debt. would not give name of company or address then hung up when I asked too many questions. called number back and it went to a generic voice mail.
Reduce the interest rates on my credit cards.
The woman said she had run my credit report and I qualified for a lower interest rate. I asked which card and she said she had ran my report from the credit bureaus. I again asked which card she was talking about and who she was trying to reach. The only reason I answered this call from a strange number is I am looking for work. I had applied at a number of places and I was hoping/expecting someone would call back. I did a quick Google search and I no prior reports came up indicating this number was from a credit card scammer this must have been a new number but it was in fact a credit card scammer calling. I think the woman may have actually asked for me by name. Also, this call was different from others in that there was already a live person on the line right when I answered. Usually, an automated voice asks you to press 1 and only when you press 1 does a person actually come on the line, and even then usually the call gets disconnected anyhow.
