I just called them back and had no problems getting an operator...picked up almost immediately. Glad I did call them back because they were calling to collect on a year old moving violation that my husband got while driving my car. Niether of us knew about this because it was taken by one of those pesky cameras and we never received anything in the mail. Anyway, I told the operator that my husband will pay the ticket directly to the city that issued it (just to make sure this isn't a scam) and the operator was OK with that. These people are not telemarketers as they are just trying to collect on a debt that they've been told you owe. Hopefully once my husband pays this ticket, they will leave us alone.
Caller user auto dialer, which according to 1947 Federal Telephone Protection Act is illegal to use when calling a residential line without the owner's prior consent. The auto dialer provides a way to contact an operator but no one is ever there. The only way I could get in contact with them to stop the harassing collection calls is to trap the caller ID and call them back directly.
I told them several times the company is trying to collect a dept for service that never worked I wont pay and to leave me alone but they wont they are fixed on harassing me
